Collection of Ultrafast Laser Applications in Material Processing
This weeks blogpost we are creating a list of ultrafast laser material processing applications. Ultrashort pulse lasers are unbelievably versatile. The usual material processing need about 1uJ - 2000uJ pulse energy, 200-3000fs pulse length, 5-30W average power.

Equipment to Build Fibre Lasers
This is an equipment guide for those who want to get into building fibre lasers. Of course, if you know what an ultrafast laser is or a fibre laser, you are likely familiar with most of these equipment but it's always good to make (or read) a summary for orientation.

Giant Chirp Mode-Locked Ring Laser Oscillators
This short blog post tries to explain how giant-chirp, mode-locked, ring laser oscillators work and what are their advantages towards affordable / low-cost ultrashort pulse lasers for material processing. Femtosecond and picosecond lasers are often used for machining and micromachining materials (any material) but they are much more expensive compared to their Q-switched and MOPA relatives. Giant chirp oscillators provide a great opportunity to reduce complexity and price of these amazing photonics devices.
